Here are some things that you need to know before you start choosing your skin care products.
The most common skin types are normal, oily, dry and combination. Normal skin will have no signs of oily or dry areas and will look healthy and clear. Oily skin will have no dry areas and will be shiny. Dry skin is where there are no oily areas and some of the skin is starting to flake. Combination skin will have oily and dry areas.
It is important that you know your skin type before you choose the skin care products because if you get the wrong kind you will aggravate your skin. Skin care products are available for specific conditions or even for a combination of conditions.
The skin care products that most people know about are the cleansers and moisturizers. These are not the only products available though. Here are some of the products you can get and what they are used for.
One: Skin care products with astringents will help to tighten your skin.
Two: Alpha-Hydroxy Acids will help to get rid of old skin cells that are on the surface of your skin.
Three: Antioxidants will help with new skin growth.
Four: UV Blockers will protect your skin from the Sun’s rays along with other types of skin care products. You can even find UV blockers that are in moisturizers. If you use this type of moisturizer you will have one less step to do every day to take care of your skin.
Five: Retinols will reduce wrinkles by causing your skin to swell slightly. They are also good help for fading age spots.
Six: Skin care products are available specifically for the eyes. This is a very sensitive area because you have thinner skin around your eyes. Products for your eyes will help with puffiness such as bags under your eyes, wrinkles, crow’s feet and the dark circles that appear under your eyes when you are tired.
You will need to figure out what your skin type is so you can choose the right products for you. Do some research to find out what types of skin care products you will need to take care of your skin. Your skin is very important to you so you have to make sure that you take care of it on a daily basis like you do other parts of your body.
